Playground Mapping

Geraldine's pre-primary students mapped the school playground using coloured matchsticks and popsticks. They chose the playground because it is an important and familiar place. The challenge was to work out where things were from a birds' eye view, rather than a child's perspective.

Some of the children made two dimensional maps and others, who wished to represent trees and tall structures, made their maps three dimensional.
