The Showgrounds is a large area of land in the middle of a Perth suburb. We wanted to find out if it had other purposes in non-show times and what economical effect it had on surrounding homes, if any.
We researched using the internet and surveyed local residents to help us locate this information.
Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) Showground Information. Diego and Rhodri used the internet to research information.
Other Events throughout the Year
There are 66 commitees that help organise the show. You may not think so, but the livestock and animals are the most popular exhibit at the Royal show. While the show is not running it is home to many other things eg. The oval for horse riding, pavilions for small events and large areas for concerts and other large size events such as The Big Day Out concert.
We discovered there are only about 31 full time staff members for the show yet 150-200 people are employed during Show time and another 2000 volunteers join the staff each show time.
